I helped with the hedge trimming, again, in preparation for the arrival of the potting shed (which comes tomorrow!) but I was more interested in these black aphids...
Colonies on this angelica plant, being monitored and essentially farmed by ants, for the sweet honeydew the aphids secrete.
It's fascinating but also disgusting!
