Today, I went to RSPB Blacktoft Sands. It's a fantastic nature reserve with several hides with outstanding views!
There were alot of new species to learn and discover. The Little Egrets were my favourite even though the Marsh Harriers are the star attraction! Look at their hair do's!
However! A VERY rare bird was there, the Montagu's Harrier. There are only around 12-16 breeding pairs in the UK and 1 pair bred at Blacktoft Sands. How exciting!
In amongst all the wildlife and natural surroundings were keen bird watchers hoping to spot the rarest of the rare birds...
It was nice to just sit out and relax away from the hype of activity at the lagoons and scrapes. I managed to find myself a very tiny bench and did just that!
I can not wait to go again!
