Afternoon tea on the river

Earlier today, I went on a 2 hour boat cruise through York. York Boat do all sort of cruises, but the cruise I went on with my friend was the Afternoon Tea Cruise.
Whilst I waited for my friend to arrive, I went up onto York's Wall. There were some good views of the Minster from there.

Once my friend arrived, we had a brief wander around town then went straight to King's Staith Landing. It was great fun being on a boat, especially when food is involved!

The food looked so yummy!
Soon, we were on the move.

The sandwiches were moreish and the puddings were delicious!
And the scone... well, it was tiny in comparison to the Holy Island scone!

There is so much of York you don't notice from the footpaths and roads. But from the river, you see every hidden bit of history!

After our afternoon tea, we bought some lemonade and went up onto the top deck to enjoy the sunshine and the views.

Past the Millennium bridge was the Arch Bishop's Palace.
It was spectacular!

On the way back to the city, after spotting an abundance of wildlife, the captain pointed out a very special boat. A gentleman had converted an ice cream van into a boat, and it still served ice creams!

What a pleasant, hot sunny day for a delightful trip on the river!
