I somehow drove there... don't ask...
And when I arrived, I explored the HUGE tram depot of all the working trams they had. I even tested out one of the seats!
There was a permanent showroom of trams which were no longer serviceable. There was all sorts, horse pulled, electric and even steam!
After exploring the two showrooms, I thought I would try one of the cafes on sight. I bought myself a lovely cappuccino which was delicious!
I couldn't wait any longer, I just had to ride on the trams! When I first arrived, I was given an old penny. This was so I could buy my day ticket for unlimited rides on the trams. There were some wonderful views along the way.
Once on the tram, I rode to the end on the line where I had the option to walk up to the Glory Mine monument on top on the hill or have lunch in the small picnic area. I decided to have lunch, yum yum yum!
After lunch, I caught a different tram and got off at the woodland walk stop. the tram needed to stop there to wait for the oncoming tram to pass. The walk was very pleasant and there were giant wooden sculptures like this ant!
Once I was back in the village, I bought a souvenir and spent the rest of the day riding on all the trams. My favourite tram was the Glasgow 1068 opened topped tramcar.
I had a fantastic time, riding on the 3 trams they had running; Blackpool 236, Blackpool 711 and the Glasgow 1068. It is definitely worth the money (plus the tickets last for 12 months!) and if I could, I would never have left!
