Ikea and tall shelves

Today, I went to Ikea with my friend to buy some much needed furniture.
I had lunch there...

15 Swedish meatballs is quite alot for a little sea lemon like me but I ate them all!

After my lunch and a grand cup of tea (free on a week day with a family card!), my friend and I browsed the store and even picked up a tiny orchid before carrying on to the warehouse to pick up the new furniture.

It was a very big warehouse with very tall shelves!

I was more than happy to remain with the trolley...

God Jul!
(Which is Merry Christmas in Swedish)

German market and Christmas shopping

Today I went into Leeds and did a spot of Christmas shopping. I also went to the German market held in the large open space outside of Leeds City Museum. I was very excited seeing all the lights, the brightly lit huts and all the festivities going on around me, that clumsy me forgot to take pictures!
I did manage to take one on the bus going home...

...but that isn't a very exciting picture.

Hopefully I'll be going back before the Market leaves on the 20th. Then I'll take pictures!

Giant vans and Preston fun

Yesterday, my friends who lived in Brighton/Hove, moved to Preston and I was more than happy to help (you would be surprised what a sea lemon can lift!).

The transit van from Enterprise was HUGE! It was big enough to hold a sofa at either end with a coffee table in the middle and still have enough room to walk about! Look!

That aside, once in Preston, the van was unloaded and the house by the end of it was a mess and it was like a mountain range for something as small as me!

A Graduation trip to Sheffiled

Today, I went on a small trip to Sheffield. My friend invited me along to their graduation and it was surprisingly good fun! I was told before hand it might be boring but how wrong we all were! Professor the Lord Winston was there and I had the privilege to sit on my friends cap!

The move from Brighton

Over the weekend, I went down to Brighton for one last final visit. My friends down there were moving out so I happily went down to help them.
Of course, it was another long journey and well, we needed a break so Costa coffee it was!

After the very long journey I did what I could to help with the packing. Later, we went to a vegetarian cafe called Iydea. It was delicious and incredibly filling!

When we were back at the flat, we carried on packing and cleaning. My friend had an out of date egg so we left it outside for a fox... nothing came unfortunately and it wouldn't surprise us if the egg was still there!

In the morning, after a late night, I carried on cleaning...

...and I even had fun doing the washing up. All those bubbles!

Eventually, everything was loaded into the van and we left Brighton for the final time. Another long journey was ahead of us and we all were glad for Costa's along the way!
Here is me with a variety coffee forest!

Yum!
We were thankful to be home and safe, with no accidents or breakages. Bed at last!

Crich Tramway Village

I went on my second visit to Crich Tramway Village. It was the very last day of the season and the museum will not be open again till March 28th 2015.

It was quite a chilly day but completely worth while!

I rode on the Berlin 223 006-4 tram...

I know it looks like I'm hijacking it but I thought I would try the seat out for size. I think I'm a little bit too small...
I even got some lovely views of the sunset.

And there was even a silver band playing which was fantastic to hear!

As the evening progressed, the lights on the Blackpool 167 were turned on and it was generally incredible to see the village lit up by the sun!

It was a wonderful day out and in total, I travelled 8 miles by tram! I rode on 4 trams in total; Leeds 345...

Berlin 223 006-4, Leeds 399...

...and the Blackpool 167 (as seen above).

I am certainly looking forward to my visit next year!

Fossil hunting at Cayton Bay

Today, I went fossil hunting at Cayton Bay, south of Scarborough. That section of the coastline is full of fossils dating back to the Jurassic.

I saw loads of dinosaur footprints!

And fossilised leaves too...

And a field of Canada Geese...

But that's a whole other story!
