It was a perfect day, glorious sunshine with the glorious wonders of the wildlife!
But of course, being the coffee addict I am, I had a wonderfully froffy cappuccino before setting out on the days adventure.
Between the woodland walk and the snazzy new visitor centre, are pond dipping platforms. My friends and I spent most of the afternoon glaring into that pond!
Whilst all the visitors were looking up to the skies or across the reedbeds for the 'large and impressive', we were looking in the shallows and the depths of one small body of water.
We saw a stickleback which is a tiny fish; most of you will know of the famous Spineless Si, part of BBC Springwatch live camera's during 2015.
However, this stickleback was too quick for us to snap a picture!
Like small herds of sheep, there were flocks of caddisfly larvae grazing not only for food, but all kinds of materials to form their mobile homes, which they live in for protection.
It's not immediately obvious in this picture, but that is the point. Their mobile home acts as camouflage too!
The caddisfly larvae is right in the middle of the picture (there is a small white reflection the size of a grain of rice pointing at it).
After humbly staring into this pond for quite a long time, we went back to the visitor centre for one the most spectacular sausage sandwiches I have ever had!
And of course, a large fruit scone!
