Yesterday evening I went to a surprise birthday party. There was alot of us there and an interesting selection of music...
Before the birthday girl arrived, I had a quick sneak peak at the cake.
It was amazing!
Apparently, she likes rally cars and handbags!
The food was good and there was plenty of it!
There was quite a substantial amount of leftovers too...
Throughout the evening, between dancing to some of the better songs, we helped ourselves to drink from the coffee machine.
But there is nothing quite like a pint of lemonade!

Flying Scotsman
Just before lunchtime, myself and 3 other friends went to the National Railway Museum to see the finished Flying Scotsman.
It was certainly impressive to see!
Though, now the magnificent engine has been restored, The Works is looking very empty!
After such an exciting morning, we had lunch in the Mallard Cafe. I had a rather large sandwich which was quite filling!
Before looking round the rest of the museum, we had one last look at The Flying Scotsman from the bridge, which overlooked it. From above, it is just as impressive!

Helmsley and Yearsley Woods
Today, a friend and I went to Helmsley for lunch.
We went to the 'Nice Things Cafe' which is a very cute little cafe with a shop full of interesting things (or 'nice'!) upstairs.
I had a very yummy egg mayonnaise sandwich and a slice of wonderful Paradise cake.
After a quick browse around the little town, we went on to Yearsley woods for a very long winding walk. Given my size, it felt more like a forest than a wood!
There was a very interesting tree too, in a clearing quite some way from the path. It was the only tree like it in the woods, that we saw!
Too soon for our liking, it was starting to get dark. So off we went back to the car to end yet another fun adventure!
