Easter and BIG eggs

I had my very first Easter today! The Easter eggs are so BIG that I am able to fit inside them! They are like a snugly cocoon for me. Mmm cosy!

It was a very early start for me today. I was up and at church around 5am for the Easter vigil service. I now understand why most people like to remain in bed! It is wonderful though to walk (don't ask how I'm walking...) down the silent streets so very early in the morning. It gives you time to appreciate the quiet before the hustle and bustle of life awakens.

It is great watching the day from start to finish. From the brightening of the day to all the wildlife emerging. Then watching the world settle down for the night.

I offered to help out at the breakfast held for those that attended the service. I really needed a coffee at this point so here I am pouring myself one (again, I'm really not sure how I managed to pour myself a mug...)

Once I was back at home, I had yet another Easter egg hunt to join in with! Mmm more chocolate! This small hunt involved finding clusters of mini eggs hidden within or on things around the house. Here is me with a rather large bucket!

Happy Easter Everyone!

Easter Egg Hunt

Today, I went on a delightful Easter egg hunt in a small village called Rufforth near York. Everyone who took part helped raise money for the villages pre-school.
Here are some of my favourite eggs...

There were alot of eggs and they all looked brilliant! Some were red herrings and the rest had letters like the Minion pictured above, which you then unscrambled to reveal a message.

It was a race against the clock and the team who completed the hunt in the fastest time won! I'm not sure where my team came but another team we knew came second, well done to them I say!

After the small manic hunt, I enjoyed home baked cakes and nibbles in the village hall. They were all incredibly tasty and I really hope there is another Easter egg hunt on next year!

Durham

I had a day out in Durham today. It's a pretty little city filled with winding streets and independent shops. I was visiting a family member and we looked round Durham cathedral and had a lovely lunch at Pizza Express. I found it incredibly difficult to choose something, especially when it came to choose a pudding!

It all looked and sounded so yummy. In the end I settled for a slice of banoffee pie with a tiny jug of cream, YUM!
